The Beall Corporation is a commercial real estate company specializing in the development, leasing and management of retail projects in Hawaii. Our accomplishments include the development of Restaurant Row in downtown Honolulu, Waterfront Row in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island, Kings’ Shops in Waikoloa, Big Island, and contributions to more than 50 other significant projects in Hawaii. Attention to the smallest detail, whether it be the building's design, financial analysis, negotiations, or attending to tenants’ needs are the values our founder, Alan Beall is known for and what he has shared with his son, Cory Beall, President, and the company’s associates.
Who We Are
Cory Beall (B), President
Cory Beall serves as President of The Beall Corporation. Past experience includes positions at Chaney, Brooks & Company in property management and at CB Commercial Hawaii in sales and leasing. Cory also formed and sold his own accounting and small business practice prior to joining The Beall Corporation in 2001. Cory brings to the team valuable organizational, communication, financial analysis, and solution creating skills. Cory oversees all day to day operations of The Beall Corporation, including corporate management, project management, client relations and new business development. He also serves as President of The Beall Capital Fund, Inc.; the company’s investment subsidiary.
Graduated from Punahou High School in 1986 and St. Lawrence University in 1990. Cory is a member of several trade organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Hawaii Developer’s Council.
Darren Lake (S), Vice President
Darren joined The Beall Corporation in 2012 and brings a wealth of experience in retail real estate brokerage, development and finance. Darren specializes in retail leasing, project management and investment sales. Prior to joining The Beall Corporation, Darren served as Director of Finance & Investments for The Resort Group where he sourced and analyzed investment opportunities within Hawaii, Caribbean and Mainland U.S. Prior to this as a Project Manager at A&B Properties, Inc., Darren oversaw all aspects of development for two commercial mixed-use, infill developments, including the proposed 600,000 sq ft Kahului Town Center and the 120,000 sq ft Aina O Kane project.
In addition to Darren's development experience, he represented several national retail tenants in their expansion into the Chicago market as a commercial broker at Zifkin Realty & Development from 1999 to 2003. Darren is a graduate of the Colorado College and the Cornell University Graduate Program in Real Estate. Darren is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute and The Cornell Real Estate Council.
Chris Yaris (S), Senior Associate
Chris joined The Beall Corporation in 2010 and brings a strong background in research and analysis. Chris has successfully lead the Beall Corporation's leasing campaign at the 60,000 SF Ko Olina Station and Center and Hale'iwa Plantation Shops and is part of the leasing teams for Queens' MarketPlace, Coconut MarketPlace, The Pacific Beach Hotel, and Princeville Center. In addition to his Landlord representation assignments, Chris has completed Tenant representation assignments for Brandy Melville, Illest, Hula Dog, and IL Gelato. Chris graduated from the University of California at Davis with a B.A. in Sociology, and began his real estate career in 2007 with Integra Realty Resources as a Commercial Real Estate Analyst. Chris is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Seth McCormack (S), Associate
Seth McCormack is a fourth generation Hawaii real estate professional. He interned with The Beall Corporation in the Summer of 2014 and joined the team full-time in 2015. Seth has demonstrated an impressive work ethic, diligence, research skills and solid real estate instincts during his time at Beall Corp. Seth graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Business and a minor in Economics. Seth’s hobbies include surfing, tennis, and golf.
Sean Freas (S), Investment Sales and Retail Leasing
Sean joined The Beall Corporation in 2014 with a strong background in finance, banking and real estate. Sean started his career in the banking industry with Bank of Hawaii and migrated to American Savings Bank to become a Corporate Banking Officer in Downtown Honolulu where he co-managed the largest C&I portfolio in the bank. He later transitioned to brokerage at Bishop Street Commercial where he focused on investment sale opportunities and retail leasing. He is a graduate of Iolani School and attended the University of Colorado and University of Redlands.
Alan Beall, CSM (B), Board Member and Past President
Alan Beall, Chairman of The Board and Past President of The Beall Corporation, is one of the leading real estate developers in Hawaii for commercial projects, specifically shopping centers. A Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and past state director of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Beall was named Shopping Center Person of the Year by the ICSC-Hawaii Chapter in 1988. Mr. Beall received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties – Hawaii (NAIOP) in 2000. He has been featured on the cover of several prominent Hawaii publications, including Hawaii Investor, Hawaii Business, and MidWeek Magazine.
Graduated from the University of Hawaii with a BA degree in economics, Mr. Beall began his development career in 1960 with Dillingham Corporation as a project manager on Ala Moana Center. Over the next 45 years established an excellent track record in the creation, financing, consulting and /or leasing of over 50 commercial projects, shopping centers, visitor attractions and entertainment centers.
